Friday is the best day of the week (in my opinion as James would quickly point out). When I was working full-time as a teacher, I never minded going to work on Fridays because everyone was in a good mood, the glorious weekend loomed ahead, and the most prime night of the week, Saturday, was only a day away. Also, let’s not forget, Friday was usually pay day and that’s always a good thing.
I thought I’d put together The Friday 5, which are some of my favorite things I’ve been eyeing or inspired by this week that you might like, too. *Links may be affiliate.
The Friday 5
I made chicken pot pie for dinner last week and I realized that my favorite wedding present from almost 10 years ago was missing. I’m not sure if it was lost in our move this summer, or if it went missing during our kitchen renovation in the fall, but my favorite dutch oven is nowhere to be found. I’m sad about that because it held many memories of cooking for the family, but truth be told, we outgrew the small size of it after we had James. I’m now eyeing this larger one. It’s a spendy kitchen item, but I consider it an investment and they last well past 1o years. I love the white and the grey colors.
This dress is pinned to my style board on Pinterest. The vibrant green color caught my eye while I was browsing for spring trends. I love the V collar and dainty details. Modcloth has such beautiful feminine styles mixed in with fun eclectic things. I pinned a few more of my favorites for spring, too.
This lamp is such a steal. In fact, it just arrived on my doorstep this morning. I’m currently working on updating our family room (new post coming next week!), and this lamp is part of the new look. I love the shape and the antique-looking details. It adds extra light that is adjustable over our sectional, and the look of it makes me just plain happy . The price is pretty amazing, too.
I mentioned how much I admire Rachel Hollis in my Five Motivational Podcasts by Women post last week. I love Rachel’s energy, her no-nonsense advice for life and building a successful career, and of course her killer style. I am also loving her newest book, in which she talks about the lies she once told herself that held her back and how she overcame them. I find myself laughing out loud and sometimes getting a little teary as I confront my own limiting beliefs. I think you’ll love it, too.
January means new planners, and you all know how much I love my planners. Really, really love them, and this year is no different. I use an Erin Condren LifePlanner to keep it all together – our family schedules, events, practices, library book lists, menu plans, and so many other things. Oftentimes I struggle to keep afloat as I raise a family, keep a home, and run a business. Using a planner is the one habit that I consistently use that helps me to manage things effectively. I use a vertical hourly in the colorful colorway.
