Spring has Sprung!

Today in Upstate NY was a frigid 25 degrees, but there was spring in the air at Hobby Lobby! My best girl and I browsed the greenery and décor for a good hour and basked in warm thoughts of the two best seasons of the year: spring and summer.

I Periscoped from the flower and stem aisle, which you can see below. Not as many side-eyes from other shoppers as before! Maybe I’m not the only one broadcasting live from there these days? If you haven’t heard about Periscope or tried it – what are you waiting for? Get thee to the app store and download it!

I’m loving it for meeting all of you and my favorite bloggers and Instagrammers. It’s a great way to talk in real time and get to know new people whom you might never get a chance to “meet” otherwise. So much fun! Find me and say “hi” if you get on!

As soon as we got home and I got the littles fed and down for rest time, I whipped out my pretty new petals and got busy putting touches of spring around the house. I put my wintery willow branches away and replaced them with these long flowy cherry branches that always remind me of spring in Washington DC.

These pretty blooms went right in the rustic farmhouse centerpiece that Tom and I made. I was really feelin’ it then because I pulled out some cheery coral napkins and set a mock Easter dinner table at 3pm. Jackson got off the bus and was a little confused!

This thrifted metal container, which I found on a Thrifty Treasures hunt here, had a few cotton stems curled up inside. I replaced them with this big happy bloom on the entryway shoe cabinet for a touch of cheer at the front door.

This last lovely hasn’t found a home yet. I bought the metal flower holder for a steal and then found the perfect spray of greenery to flounce out of it. I’m loving how it looks on the wall next to the TV, but I have a need for balance. Does it need another on the other side? What do you think? Please share any touches of spring you have or will be adding, too. I’d love to be inspired by your decorating!
