I’ll be sharing a full recap of this past weekend’s sold out Planner Workshop with the professional photos on my blog and on Erin Condren’s blog, but I couldn’t wait to share a little sneak peek recap. (The full recap is now posted here!)
All of the awesome candid photos from the day are hashtagged on Instagram with #willowcrestlaneplans. Check out the tag to see the rest! The planner selfies are my favorites!
Hosting this planner workshop came about after I shared my love of planning on my blog here and here. Through talking with friends and my local planner group ladies, I decided to put together a Planner Workshop where we could celebrate living an organized and productive life with the help of our planners.
The response was amazing! In less than a week, the Planner Workshop sold out! There were so many ladies who wanted to learn how to find peace from planning, and meet other women with the same goals.
Aside from gathering together a community of planners at the beautiful Rochester Brainery, my goal was to make everyone feel special and appreciated. The details of the event were so much fun to work on! Tom and I made the name tag board and the planner inspiration board out of pallets that we painted. I love how they turned out!
The flower backdrop was a whole family project, too. My sisters, my mom, and my nieces all pitched in and made the photo backdrop. It ended up being my favorite detail because I loved watching so many planner friends taking pics and hamming it up!
After we settled down a bit, some of my favorite planner ladies and I stood up and talked for a few minutes about how planning had impacted our life. Rachel, Claudia, Katie, and I talked about how to stay productive and organized, how to use your planner as a memory keeper, and how to plan when fear of the blank page strikes. I learn so much from the planner community, and I’m thankful to these planner girls for sharing their experiences.
Nicole, from Lemon Fresh Lettering, was set up doing live demos of her water brush lettering. It was so neat to see how to make our planners beautiful! Stephanie, from Behind Designs, had Nicole letter her name in the inside cover of her planner. I’m sad I didn’t think of that pretty touch!
After listening to the guest speakers, we all got to the serious business of checking out the dessert table and the planner goodies. My friend, Erin, made the most amazing sugar cookies (I am still dreaming about that frosting), and I had pastries brought in from a local bakery.
I spent a lot of time working with shops and brands to put together swag bags that would make the planner ladies feel spoiled and appreciated. We all know that women have many roles to juggle, and sometimes there is not enough time to feel appreciated and taken care of. I think the swag bags were a big hit because of the generous sponsors! I hope they made everyone feel appreciated.

After we nabbed some desserts and visited for a while, we got settled at the workshop tables. Each table also had a handmade rustic farmhouse centerpiece from the Willowcrest Lane Etsy shop filled with some treats!
Next to the centerpiece was another very special planner surprise – Erin Condren sent some of her best planning supplies, and also some of her newest back-to-school line for us all to plan with! One lucky lady at each table won the package at the end of the afternoon. While we’re talking about luck – the amazing Erin Condren Luxe LifePlanner was the door prize! Yay to Debbie for winning! The whole room erupted into cheers!
I am thankful to be surrounded by so many inspiring, motivated women from the Rochester and surrounding areas. I didn’t want our afternoon to end, and I can’t wait to plan the next one. Thank you to all who came and to all who contributed to the day! I’ll be sharing more details and photos from the day in the full recap post on Friday on my blog and as a guest post on Erin Condren’s blog! I can’t wait for you to see the beautiful photos Jocelyn captured of our day!
