Guest Post: The Inspirational Erin Condren Life Planner

Willowcrest Lane: Erin Condren Planner

I’m so excited to introduce the first guest post on Willowcrest Lane by my dear friend and fellow passionate planner, Rachel! Rachel is a gem of a friend. Simply put, she has the kindest heart and gentlest spirit that radiates from her. She was the first one to welcome me to the building when I moved from teaching middle school to high school, and we were instant friends. Rachel plans with an hourly Erin Condren Life Planner, and true to form, she has a wonderful way to inspire and motivate you using the blank pages. I just love this idea! Thank you, Rachel, for sharing your beautiful planner.

English teachers, planners, friends

There are many reasons why I was so honored and excited when Norah asked me to write a guest post about planning this week!  When Norah and I met four years ago, we quickly discovered that we shared a passion for organization and planning. She introduced me to the Erin Condren Life Planner last year and I have been in love with my ECLP ever since. Norah and I share a love for planning, cute stickers, and floral washi, but she has also become an intrinsic part of my life and a true friend who I treasure dearly.  How lucky we are as women to be inspired and empowered by the strength and love we show to each other.

Planner girls unite. Okay, that may have been too corny. Eek!

Being able to go back through my planner at the end of the year and reminisce about my life is my favorite part of having a planner. Looking back on memories of events we did as a family, girls’ night out (aka Book Club), births, work opportunities, etc. is very special. My first ECLP holds the events and memories of my son, Aiden’s, first year at school. His first picture day, chapel, Mother’s Day celebration, art show and (insert ugly cry face) graduation are all documented for me to look back on over the years.

I love that the EC hourly has these blank pages for me to use as inspiration.

One of the new aspects of the hourly Erin Condren Life Planner is the blank monthly divider page. I wasn’t sure how I wanted to utilize this page every month, but I know that I am a very sentimental person and easily inspired by quotes and images. The last few months have been a rather emotional time and I realized I saved a lot of quotes and images from social media sites on my phone. One of my favorites is an image of a lion with his cub by his side and the quote “I thought about quitting, but then I noticed who was watching.” I knew I needed to have that in my planner to inspire me, along with the rest of the quotes.

My inspiration page in my planner. Planning is so much more than just writing down appointments.

As I was going through my photos and reminiscing about why each quote inspired me, I was trying to figure out how I could display them.  Light bulb goes off: planner!  Using a paper planner can be so much more than writing in birthdays and appointments.  Now each month will also contain a page dedicated to quotes expressing my thoughts, emotions, and inspiration to a better me throughout the year.

To a new planner or someone looking to use your planner as a memory keeper as well as a schedule and appointment tracker, I want to encourage you to think creatively about how your planner can show who you truly are and what helps keep you grounded.  Planner friends make the best friends, so please stop by my planner Instagram to say “hi!” and see some planner inspiration!

Much love,

Hi Rachel! There are a lot of EC planner lovers out there and I’m always mesmerized to read about their own planners -as I have the Happy Planner (and I am ‘Happy’ with it, lol!). The one thing I wish my HP had was that blank divider page! What a great use you’ve made out of it!!

Hi Stephanie! Thank you for leaving a comment and reading my post!! Do you have any posts on your blog about your Happy Planner? I would love to see how you use it! I actually looked one at Michaels the other day, but I couldn’t find it. I want to compare it to the ECLP.

Hi Stephannie, Isn’t that the greatest idea for the blank page? I can’t wait to try it, too. I’m thinking about giving the Happy Planner a try, too. I love the designs and the pages come out, right? That would make decorating or stamping so easy.

I’ve just recently revived my blog so I haven’t been able to get up my Happy Planner post just yet (but it’s coming soon!). You interest in seeing my planner inspires me to get working on that post!

Hi Norah! Funny you say that as I was considering the Erin Condren planner for another reason! I definitely love how easy the pages come out -perfect for the left-hander!

Please tag me when you do! Can’t wait to see it. 🙂
