Oh, girls, do I have something special to share with you! One of my recent Favorite Finds is my new fauxdori traveler’s notebook. I have been eyeing my mother-in-law’s beautiful Midori Traveler’s Notebook for some time now, and I finally made the leap to get my own. I absolutely love this fauxdori from The Pink Cow Boutique on Etsy. I could not be happier with the quality and function of this little travel necessity.
You might have read or heard that I am a bit of a planner nut. I love, love, love the feeling of calm and peace that comes over me when I take the time to plan out my week, my family’s activities, and all of the other things that go along with being a wife, mom, teacher, and candlestick maker. I have tried tucking my two planners, an Erin Condren Life Planner, and my InkWell Press inserts (in a Carpe Diem binder) in my purse to keep with me, but they are just too big for me to carry along with diapers, sippy cups, and all the other baby paraphernalia that must come with me. Enter my new fauxdori!
The fauxdori Traveler’s Notebook from The Pink Cow Boutique is lightweight but study enough that I just tuck it right into my bag and head out, not to mention that I’m in love with the floral fabric I picked. There are so many cute details, too! Leslea, the owner, sews a little pocket on the back cover where I have been stashing my cute tiny Post-its, and the pen loop is another bonus. No more searching frantically for something to write with and coming up with a half-eaten crayon. Maybe my favorite part of all is that Leslea includes a pretty charm to hang on the closure. I picked a delicate little gold “N,” and I just love the whole look!
To go inside this little pretty notebook, I went right over to Stilo Papers on Etsy and ordered custom notebooks with my monogram. LeAnne from Stilo Papers was a dream to work with (especially when I forgot to add some missing information to my order – I’m a mess, guys. Don’t let the planners fool you.). Stilo Papers has many color choices, fonts, and types of notebooks to customize your traveler’s notebook. I picked a monthly view and a grid notebook, which fit perfectly in my fauxdori. I love the quality of this paper, and the designs are so much fun to see peeking out of the notebook.
Many times I find myself with a few extra minutes, usually in my car while I’m waiting for pre-school to let out, or in a waiting room, or even when I take a second and enjoy the silence of the car after sneaking out by myself to go grocery shopping. These are the times that I search for my traveler’s notebook the most. I love to print off The Reset Girl’s Listers Gotta List prompts (Cori sends the prompts to you when you sign up for the email list) for writing down quick notes and memories. I also write down ideas, lists, and quotes or lyrics that I don’t want to forget. Sometimes a blog idea or a recipe idea will pop into my head, and it’s great to have this little personalized notebook right there to catch them before they slip out of my overtired brain.
Leslea from The Pink Cow Boutique, and LeAnne, from Stilo Papers, are not only talented ladies, they are generous as well! Each are offering a 20% discount (good until 5/1/16) to their shops with the code WCLFRIENDS20, so go check them out, guys! Let me know what you think, or if you use a traveler’s notebook already, too!
