It’s apple everything season!
Last year in September, our family went apple picking and we came home with 50 lbs. of apples. I’m not kidding when I say that I made apple everything for weeks. I felt like Bubba from Forest Gump: apple fritters, apple dip, apple cake, apple pie, apple crisp, apple cookies, apple cider milkshakes and apple s’mores.
Yes, I said that. Caramel apple s’mores and caramel apple cider milkshakes are where it’s at this fall!
We love having fall bonfires, and what goes better with bonfires than s’mores? For the first time this year, I sliced up some green apples and spread this sinful salted caramel sauce on the graham cracker. Topped with some Hershey’s chocolate and a toasted marshmallow, wow. Like I posted on my Instagram the night we made them, “No words, just bliss.”
Apple cider milkshakes were a favorite growing up in our house. Every fall we would load up on gallons of fresh cider and vanilla ice cream and make these tasty milkshakes probably more often than necessary. This time I added salted caramel to them and it was out-of-this-world good!
Here’s a roundup of a few of my favorite fall apple recipes from my Pinterest board to try. I’d love to hear your favorite recipes, too!
