Decorating Essentials and vacations don’t normally go together, but…
For the last four years, we’ve gone to Cape Cod, MA for summer vacation. I adore the kid-friendly beaches and the small town feel of Cape Cod so much that it’s my favorite place to go with the kids.
This year I added another huge plus to our favorite vacation spot– there is a World Market right on the Cape!
I was pretty excited to visit and see in person all the things that I Pin on my Pinterest Home Décor boards. Since we had just moved into our new house a month before, I went in with a list of all the things I knew I wanted to decorate our home with. (*World Market links are affiliate)

Decorating Essentials from World Market
World Market baskets are the best. You can’t beat the price, and I use them in every room of our house. I grabbed two of the large and two small sizes to hold my plants and pillows and throws in our living room.
I love how easy it is to grab what I need when it’s so easily stored in reach. Plus, baskets just look pretty. They add texture and interest to a room.
With all of the newly refinished wood floors in our house, choosing good quality, beautiful rugs was one of the first things I purchased. They cozy up any space and add some visual interest in rooms.
I have two so far, and my eye on a few more. I love the look of kilim rugs like these.
I bought this one for my kitchen.
And I bought one similar to this style for Isla’s room.
Mirrors do so much for homes to open up spaces by reflecting light and making the room seem larger and brighter. I knew our entryway needed a big statement mirror and I fell in love with both of these ornate frames.
I couldn’t fit a mirror in our truck with all of our luggage, so I left without one. It turned out that I found a thrifted vintage mirror when we came back from vacation with the same ornate style of these two that I love so much.
There were so many more mirrors that I spotted and loved. The wood framed ones were especially lovely
This one is going to find a home somewhere in my house in the near future, too.
